Connecting Artisans and Makers in Kingston

Tourism marketing is the most powerful component that shapes a destination’s identity. As part of Kingston Accommodation Partners’ new focus on millennial visitors, we showcased the city's artisans, creators and makers through the eyes of those who are makers themselves.

We curated a group of influencers with diverse connections to the “maker movement” which included artisans, photographers and entrepreneurs to experience the city through the perspective of its own crafts people.

Each guest was given personalized invitations and hand made goods from local Kingston makers before attending the weekend.

We guided our guests through maker workshops, local craft breweries and art collectives to connect with Kingston's renowned creators. The group was also treated to a helicopter tour and a private dinner with Kingston's arts leaders to celebrate the weekend.

With a collective digital footprint of 304,607 this group yielded over 25,000 Instagram likes over the course of the three day activation. The photos taken on the tour were also submitted to for use to Kingston Accomodation Partners in support of their new campaign and re branding strategy.
